Hello everyone! So I moved about a year ago now and haven't had internet on my desktop the entire time. After setting everything up my computer worked fine for months but a little thing I noticed was when it stormed and I unplugged everything, when I plugged it back in it asked me for the date and time. It had never done that before. Than one night I shut it down as normal and the next day booted it up but the monitor wouldn't react. The light turned green and than went to amber/orange. I tried restarting and it still did nothing. Finally I got it to boot up and it worked fine but every time I shut it down it did the same thing again it would go days without the monitor reacting. I tried a new monitor it did the same thing I tried my monitor on another computer and it worked fine. Than one day when I tried it the monitor did work it booted up fine I was using it and it shut down on me. Than the green light on the tower just blinked and I had to unplug it to actually turn it off. When I rebooted it the green light on the tower was blinking again and it came up with a black screen that said something about an Error in checkpoint (B). I restarted it and it worked fine it's never done it again. I did notice if I don't turn off my monitor and restart the tower than the monitor will work. That can't be good for it though and I doubt leaving it on all the time is good for it or our electricity bill. I'm afraid to turn it off because I do all my artwork on that computer I'm using a laptop now but it's older and I know it won't hold all my stuff. I really hope someone can help me. Thanks everyone!

I think there are a few things wrong here.

Please buy a replacment CMOS battery and replace the old one. (this will sort out the loss of time/date and BIOS settings.

Please try and boot using onboard video. (assuming you have a GPU installed)

Try these things, and report back and i will see what i can do.

CMOS battery where would I get another one and how do I know what I need? Also if I get another one how do I replace that one? And do what with the video? I did check to make sure the card wasn't lose or anything.
