dell dimension 8100 and monitor

so i get this computer from a salvation army place, 100$ its on in the store.. runs fine... i take it home boot it up, it has 8 copies of windows xp on it.. so i go through them to find which turns it on.. after a few tries it boots (third from the bottom) and so the os are partition through the 20g hard drive, and i have no room at all, so i decide ill repartition it and just have one, so i get a copy of xp and boot to it.. it goes the install finishes and i turn it off to restart it.. but i don't start it for a few days.. and finally i get back to it.. and turn it on.. the computer starts but the monitor stays idle.. (blinking light) i check all the cords, the video card, the memory and hard drives, tried another video card i even took it all out and cleaned off the dust. each step i would try to start it to see if it works.. so after a few weeks away from my frustration.. i get a spare 20g hd and install windows onto it, test it on a working computer and then put it into the dell and still a no go.. so the dell is a dimension 8100 has some nividea g force 2mx video card, no video on the motherboard.. oh ya, i even tested the power supply.. and tried with only the video card and hard drive powered to see if that worked.. so ya, any help would be great.. thanks..

Did you try this monitor giving you grief on a second computer?
You seemed to have done a great job trouble shooting everything ells.
But I don't see anything about you testing the monitor itself.

 

yep, ive tried different monitors crt and lcd even tried a tv.. also im not sure if i said ive tried different os as well..
