DELL go to black screen?? HELP PLEASE

    My dell only 2006 decided one day to not work for me. So now when I turn on Monitor first, then I turn on CPU/mainframe, the "Dell loading" splash screen does come on like normal with the setup F2 and another F12(forgot what number) the loading bars finish completely across the screen then it just goes to BLACK, damn BLANK. I have tried hitting the F buttoms but those won't work! It's like the computer doesn't recognize that I'm hitting the setting button.

    So I know it's not the monitor.. But what the hell could be making the CPU just stop at that very moment everytime...and just out of the damn blue?

    PLEASE any suggestions or advice..
    should I start looking for another computer?? :cry
