Have this laptop where the "QWER" key will not work while the rest do ... tried turning over the keyboard to allow any material to fall out, but no help ... does anyone have any idea why those keys will no longer work ...:confused thanks:wave

She didn't mention anything about any spills so to my knowledge there were no spills.:confused

I would start by uninstalling and reinstalling the keyboard drivers. It's unlikely that is the problem, but definately worth a shot. You could also take the keyboard off and just check that the ribbon cable is seated properly. If that still doesn't solve the problem, you're probably in need of a new keyboard dude. You can pick up a keyboard on fleabay pretty cheap, under 20 bucks.

I would try eBay, I've gotten a few keyboards from there and haven't had any problems yet. Fairly inexpensive too. Just type 'dell 1505 keyboard' in the search field.
