Dell Laptop Acting Floopy!

I have an older Dell Latitude 3550, running Windows Pro 7. The last few months it's been acting up...very slow to load Windows, connect to the internet, etc. I would like to keep it because there are 2 programs I use daily that aren't compatible with anything over Windows 7 My question is, if I clean everything off of it except those 2 programs and my picture files would that help?

 

before you clean everything off I would suggest in looking at your task manager to see what programs you have got at startup as that slows down in the laptop loading up. Also what RAM have you got installed in the laptop that is running windows 7.

Sorry I misread your original post I didn't see that you are running windows 7. go to start and run and type msconfig then click on the startup tab and show me a screenshot of your startup programs on there.

 

There is a few startup programs that can be stopped itunes adobe and superantispyware these can slow down your computer

 

Ok, I can handle that. But what about my original question? Would it help if I removed everything except 2 programs and my picture files?

 

it depends on if your hard drive is full. if it's full then that does slow the computer down aswell but if you have plenty of space left then it shouldn't really matter.
