I have a strange one here. My laptop will not start the PC when running on battery alone, however if I plug the laptop in and then start it I'm fine. I then can unplug and run on the battery for a couple hours.

Any idea what maybe the issue?

Not enough power in the battery to power the components of the laptop. It needs the 'assist' from the power supply.
Your battery is losing power & you may need a new one.

I can run on battery for 2hrs though, and the battery was replaced about 3mos ago.

Hi swalsh, could you clarify what you mean by "laptop wont start the PC"?!?!?

Are you using your laptop to bring your Desktop (pc) out of sleep mode or something?

Case of not reading what I typed.

What it was supposed to read was:

I then can unplug and run on the battery for a couple hours, but without the AC assistance I cannot start the laptop. The battery was replaced 3mos ago from dell and is the same model as original.
