I have a Dell Latitude C810 which I purchased from a used computer reseller (CSR). None of the blue function keys do anything. I'm guessing that it's missing some software that Dell would have installed. Can anyone help me get whatever I need to make these keys work?

Go to dell.com armed with your Service Tag number from the bottom of the laptop. It's a number and letter combo anywhere from 5 to 8 characters long. When at dell.com, go to the drivers/downloads section and enter the Service Tag number and you'll be directed to the appropraite drivers. Just out of curiosity: are you talking about the blue symbols under the 'F' keys at the top? If so, you'll have to hold the 'Fn' key down (lower left on the keyboard) while pressing the desired key to get any action. On some older Dell laptops, to get into BIOS setup you have to press 'Fn' and 'F1' at the same exact moment to get it to work.....

    Thanks hopperdave,

I know about the Fn key having to be pressed to make the blue functions work. On my machine it makes no difference at all. I downloaded the latest bios (A12) and installed it, but the blue keys still don't work.

Also, even though the bios setup shows the right (main) battery to be 99% charged, as soon as I remove a/c power the machine shuts down.

I'm guessing there's some Dell software missing.
