Dell laptop turns back on after standby

    Hi there!
    As the title suggests, this machine won't go into standby mode and stay there. It turns itself back on. It is a Dell Pentium running XP. Pretty standard machine actually. No bells and whistles.
    After reading up on this problem, I checked the BIOS setting "Wake upon LAN signal" and that is disabled. I have also cleaned the machine using SpyBot and AdAware. WINFIX is however a problem. That will be the next question.
    Any ideas.
