I have a Dell 1700n that has taken on a life of its own. About every 45 minutes or so it surges, as if trying to print. It doesn't matter where it's connected.

Now the "LOAD/REMOVE PAPER" light stays on, though there is no paper jam and it has sufficient paper to print.

Finally, the rollers run non stop, without prompting or feeding paper through. The Document Queue is clear.

Effectively, I have a really nice doorstop that doubles as a soothing white noise machine.

It's about a year out of warranty so planned obsolence could be an issue, though it seems too soon.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you,
    bb
