Dell PC Will not start

I have a Dell Dimension Desktop 4500 that is a little over 5 years old. I have never had any issues and tyipcally leave it running 24/7. I left town for a few days so I powered it down before I left only to find it will not start when I got back. I have tried other outlets and still get lights so I don't think anything is wrong with the power supply.

I just have an orange light now on the power button (possible indicator of problem?) In the past this was a green light. If I hold the button in for 8-10 seconds it goes off just like it would if I had to hard boot in the past. When I push the button again as if I was trying to turn it on the orange light comes back, but nothing happens. I does not sound like anything is even begining to happen. When I have not issues there is another (green) light about an inch from the power button that does not come on at any point in any color now. Would I still somehow get the light even if there was a bad power supply? Any ideas?

 

Was there a possible storm [lightning] that went thru while you were gone? Other than having someone to check the power supply its awful hard to trouble shoot since the powersupply has to be good to guess any farther. ed

 

no storms. I will probobly just go get a used powersupply in the morning and test that and retest. I was just hoping someone may have seen something similar and had another suggestion.
