Dell SiS SiS661GX AGP

    Is this driver compatible with my computer? I have an Advent laptop, with SiS661GX Mirage graphics. Does it matter if its a Dell driver?

    Also my system has this     SiS648FX PCI to AGP Bridge

    Please help because I havent a clue. Is it safe to just try it and then uninstall it if it dosent work?

    Hi Wayne,

    Yes it should do as they are same chipsets, but I would be more tempted to get the driver from SIS themselfs ans on the odd occasion OEMs like Dell do slightly have the drivers adjusted for their purpose, with the unifided drives from SIS, they will cater for all.

    http://www.sis.com/download/ then click your OS > IGP Graphic Drivers > SiS66x/SiS76x & SiS671/SiS771 then GO.

    I allready have the up to date drivers from SiS. I was still just fretting about that AGP driver. That DriverAgent says all my drivers are up to date except AGP! Ive posted asking about this before and been told to take no notice of that if everything works fine, Im just one of those people who dont know when to leave something alone!

    It was me that told you to leave them alone but those were the PCI to AGP bridge, which is part of the chipset drivers ( seems DriverAgent is picking them up for some reason ) and not the IGP onboard graphics driver, which you mention above, that is one if the latest one is newer than yours you should update.

    I think I have the all latest drivers on my system now, SiS UniVGA 3.98 is what I have for graphics. Its just that AGP one that driveragent moans at!
