Deny Shutdown.. [?]

    Could anyone link me to a tutorial that will show me how to write a program that will stop a process/program from restarting my computer?

    Or you could just write it for me =) Just tell me where to type in the process name :)



    -- I'm searching now, but I figured it wouldn't hurt to ask.

    Not sure what you are trying to get at ....specific programs that you want to disable a restart after an upgrade?
    If you just want to restart windows without restarting the computer:
    In the Start Menu, click Shutdown.
    Then check Restart.
    As you click OK, hold down the Shift Key.
    Continue holding Shift until you see the words, "Windows is now restarting."

    Windows will now restart without having to restart the computer itself.

    Additionally:
    Restart windows without restarting computer:
    .go to run, type regedit, enter ...go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE_SOFTWARE - Microsoft - WindowsNT-CurrentVersion-Winlogon. Add/Modify the EnableQuickReBoot string value and change it to 1 ....save (f5) and exit, reboot.
    Then to restart windows without a reboot press shift+Ctrl+Alt+del.

    It can also be done from the command line:

    taskkill /F /IM explorer.exe && explorer
    This can be entered at the command line, or copied into notepad and saved as filename.bat, and you would have a batch file that did this for you automatically!

    I meant, I want to make a program that does not allow ANY Process to restart your computer.

    Say if I had a virus, that restarted my computer when it detected something. I could just put in the virus' process name and the program would not allow my computer to be restarted by the virus.

    Sorry, this is hard to explain.
