yes - i really does work. my mother is a highschool teacher and she showed me an article she brought home from work all about this. although the sample paragraph in the article seemed easier to read than your post - i don't know why that would be - i'm going to go to my parents house this morning for coffee and i'll ask her if she knows of a link.
    it is interesting stuff!

all my mother had of the article was the sample paragraph stuck to the fridge - here it is:

Aoccdrnig to a rscheeachr at Cmabrigde Uinervtisy, it diesn't mttaer in waht oredr the ltteers in a wrod are, the olny iprmoetnt tihng is taht the first and lsat ltteer be at the rghit pclae. The rset can be a total mses and you can sitll raed it wouthit porbelm. tihs is bcuseae the huamn mnid deos not raed ervey lteter by istlef, but he wrod as a wlohe.

i read this article about a year ago and i think it might have been titled "how we read" or "how the brain reads words" or something like that (but i'm not positive).

    hope this helps!

Thanks for the link beowulf... I mean tahkns for the lnik bwoeulf...uhhh never mind. That is the article I was refering to. Some one else posted on a different thread here a few days ago, and they wrote mixed up, which reminded me of it. I thought others might try writing like that to mess with peoples heads.

It was actually a real spelling error! I had "too" instead of "to". Did work out good though.
