Desert Combat crashes

When I try to load a map/game, it crashes (computer restarts) about 3 seconds into loading. i have all the latest updates/patches for bf1942 and desert combat and action battlefield; as well as latest video drivers. My system is an Athlon XP 2100+, 512mb 3200 ddr ram, radeon 9000, 80 gig 7200rpm HDD, asus mobo (dunno what model), windows xp pro, recent version, latest updates. Any suggestions on what is causing DC to crash?
btw, i have played dc fine on this system but have since reinstalled windows and the game.

 

If you've installed any new maps, that could be the problem. If not, then a complete removal & reinstall of Battlefield could be in order.

There is great support to be had at FPS Central & Gaming Fourms. Search around there & I'm sure you'll find a fix. There also alot of good tutorials for tweaking the game & Windoze to make the game run so much smoother.
