desktop attached to recycle bin

This is a strange one - I run every blocker and scanner known to man, you name it, I run it and all say PC is clean as a whistle HOWEVER !!
My desktop has mysteriously become attached to the recycle bin. Every time I empty the recycle bin it tries to delete the desktop folder [?????]. It think its a glitch in the setup somewhere but I can't figure out how to remove the desktop
from the recycle bin tree.
If its a virus or left over FROM a deleted virus [ like a rogue file or command that modified the registry ] I cant find it nor can any virus scanner. Any help in advanced commands or hidden setup functions would be appreciated

 

These 3 methods can repair and/or replace missing/damaged files. Run them all:

Don't run too many cleaners. They ruin more than they do good. These are as good as safe:

CCleaner
Windows Live OneCare Safty Scanner
ATF Cleaner
Disk Cleanup Tool (in Windows)

That's just about what there is. All other (registry) cleaners will land you in trouble.
