Desktop Icons

    When I log onto my computer my screen will flash the icons on and then off, and will just show the background. It will do this about 5 times and then it will go to where I don't see the icons at all.

    I am Running Windows XP, I'm not sure what other type of information you need to know.

    Can someone please help me...

    Is the taskbar(the whole bit at bottom where start menu and windows are) going on and off?

    If so then I had that problem too, I think what I did was a system restore, or open up Lavasoft Adware and scanned PC for any infections.

    ctrl-alt-del and start a new task type explorer.
    temp fix.

    Unfortunately I don't have any system restores...

    I have been doing the explore thing, but have to do it everytime I turn the computer on.
