Desktop LCD monitor slightly dim

I have a dual monitor setup, both monitors are the exact same model number (Dell E153FP). One is just slightly brighter than the other. If I split a window between the monitors, on one the white is very bright and on the other is a kind of cream color. Does anyone one know what this means?
Are the inverter or backlight going bad? If so, which do you think it is?
I just set this up about a month ago, so I have no frame of reference as to when the monitor started dimming.
Both monitors have been reset to factory defaults (on the monitor) and the dimness is noticeable in both Windows and various Linux distros. I have tried switching ports on the Video card and adjusting a bunch of driver and display settings.

The dim monitor is perfectly usable, it is just a little annoying. Please let me know if any of you have repaired something like this and how much it would take (time,effort and cash).

Just go into the monitors settings and turn the brightness up on the dimmer monitor. No 2 monitors will look exactly the same even if they are the same model due to parts tolerance.

 

Question about lcd monitor light source lifespan? My question is: Is it better to leave a lcd monitor on with a screen saver or does putting it into standy (turning off lamp) shortern the light source lifespan. Does turning off the lamp and turning it back on drastically shorten the life of the bulbs.
