Every time I startup my pc or wake it up from sleep, the screen goes black and I have to press the mode button on my monitor constantly to get it to show up and get it to go to 1:auto detect(digital).

Can anyone tell me what the problem is and how to fix it? Thanks

What make and model is your monitor?

    It is a Dell2208WFP

The settings in display settings are

    Display 1.Dell2208WFP(Digital)
    Resolutions 1680x1050 (recommended)
    Orientation Landscape

Yah, my drivers are up to date and it still does it.

Ok sounds dumb but have you checked the VGA cable or swapped it out with a tested good one. Or test the monitor with another PC to see if it is the monitor and not the PC graphics card causing the problem.
