Desktop update.exe

    Hello to the people who read this thread. I am still using
    Windows ME. I know it sounds old and in the way, but I
    have this problem with an update program that I cannot
    get off the desktop even in safe mode. I remember an
    update shortly after ME came out that addressed the
    problem, but for the life of me I cannot locate the fix.
    Could someone help.

    Looking for better computing shortly.
