    hey all,

    I basically was browsing the net as you do when an ad came up and slotted itself on my desktop infront of my backgrouund, and I dunno what else to do......

    I tried msconfig and lookin for it in the startup programs, but don't have a clue what its called. when you click on it and view the source code it includes : -

    <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN">

    subscribed_url="C:\WINDOWS\Web\desktop.html"

    looked there but there is nothing there out of sorts

    thanks for any help!

    lask.

    What OS?

    Sounds like an Active Desktop issue.

    In XP, it will be located under Display Properties >Desktop tab >Customize Desktop >Web tab.

    Adrynalyne, u are a god among men to those who aren't as computer gifted as some. I have been downloading and trying non stop to get rid of that damn thing, but then i read this and bam, im done with the active desktop blocker in seconds, thank you. even though i didn't initally post, this helped me relieve a frusteration going on for almost a week now...
