    I know this probably sounds dumb, but is it possible for the desktop to load several times? Whenever I turn my computer on it appears to load the icons on the desktop at least three times. It just started doing this recently. Since this started I have been getting messages saying my resources were low and I need to close other programs that are running, though there are no other programs running at the time.

    Which windows are you using? Sounds like ME.

    Anyway, open your Task Manager (CTL,Alt, DEL) and copy your PROCESSES. Then post that and maybe someone can help you figure out more.

    I agree sounds like a commen case of too many processes starting up and dragging the system down.
