Desperate,Desperate for help!!

Hello, help!!
Hi I have a big problem. My laptop has obvious been hit by a virus as it wont start up properly. I get (cant find "Crogams" search and please try again).
I was thinking of running my windows disc under repair but it asks for a customer number or something like that, and I dont know it.
PLeeeeeeassse help! I cant lose stuff.

 

The number should be on a sticker on the back, bottom, side of your PC. Five sets of five numbers and letters, you might need a magnifying glass to read them. Would help to know what make, model of PC you are using, and what operating system it is using, XP Home, XP Pro, Vista Ultimate, Windows 98 SE, etc.There is also a right way and a wrong way to do a repair install, something I have never had much luck with...

it wants a customer number not product number (or serial). My computer is a alienware laptop.

I am on a stable system, like I said I am using my wife's computer. I cannot use mine as like I said it cannot even startup properly.
