Desperate--messed up my "print" options

I'm in the midst of one of the biggest projects of my life and while typing I wanted to add an "em dash" and thought the command was ctrl+alt+-- (two hyphens). Well, that didn't put the em dash in my document, but it changed my cursor to a big, black minus sign. At the time, I didn't realize it was a "minus" sign, I just thought it changed my cursor from the arrow.

I needed to print the current page I was on, so I used my new cursor (the minus) and went up to "file" and clicked on "print" and my "print" feature disappeared altogether.

Long story short, I got the "print" clickable back under the "file" area, but it doesn't open any option box for "print current page," or "print selected text" or any other options. It just starts printing. I have a 400 page document I'm working on, and I need to print individual pages/areas.

HELP! I'm sweating and tearing my hair, and have a deadline to meet! How can I get all the bells and whistles back under File/Print? Windows XP

Cat, I checked out the link, but I don't think it's going to help. I need to figure out how to replace the sub-categories (print current page/print selection, etc.) of the Print feature under File, or even when printing from the printer icon. If I click on print or the printer icon, it gives me no choices, and just starts printing away.

But, thanks for the linkwith em and en dash info. It will help in that regard,

Only other things i can think of is to try Detect & Repair under Help in Word...I'm guessing thats what ur in.

Or Reveal Formating (codes) n see if you can find the error that way & then do a search and replace.
