Desperate! Need loads of help!

I have WIN98, it completely broke down on or about 4/16. This was my mistake entirely as I decided to set a password for my computer and my husband couldn't get in and I lost the password! Then, after I got out of the hospital on 4/24, I did another stupid thing and logged in as owner! Well, it looks like I'm configuring my own computer and I'm doing it all wrong.

I have some software ordered from e-bay that is supposed to reinstall Windows and fix configuration problems, but will that solve the whole problem? My images don't display. Can't connect to networks, especially this thing called NETWARE. I am really flying in the dark here. I know NETWARE has something to do with software installed. I need to reinstall Diskeeper Lite, as the one I have looks like a very old version. I know you have it on your site, but for the life of me, I can't find the page (I'm that rattled right now!) and I also need CCleaner, as I uninstalled my present verstion because that's what Windows keeps telling me to to. It also, when it finally lets me into safe mode says it needs the nwn32.dll.

After all of this, I have ordered the one software I mentioned above, plus software for Linux in Windows, and for PCLinuxOS, because, frankly I am fed up with the big corporations and the fact that they are trying to take over the internet! These new Linux versions look very easy to handle. You know, I'm 56 and have been pretty much learning all about this myself and I also have seen the light and know that the best help is from the forums, and you're one of the best!

I don't know if this was too vague, but is certainly was wordy!
Please, I'm relying on your expert help. One of my friends, Hawk, was/is helping out on this forum, but I haven't been able to get in touch with him.
