Desperatley need your impute

I wasn't quite sure where to post this. I have been lurking on this site for quite a while and trust your judgement.

I am starting an online business. I have been meeting with different designers to design my web site which will consist of a forum and shopping cart.

I have been searching for someone to develop a site that anyone else could tweak if the original designer disappeared or what have you.

Keep in mind, I know very little lingo about web design but am catching on.

I was hoping some of you could critique this guys other website designs and also look at my proposal. If this is not the appropriate place to post this, maybe someone could direct me to someone who can advise me.

The designer has some pretty good designs though the use of flash for an e-commerce site should be limited, very limited. The designer uses flash quite a bit throughout his sites.

Err yes, definatley make sure he doesn't use flash unnececarily because that will cost ya. So far as support, make sure they agree to update and fix problems as part of the support. Make sure they they include optimisation for search engines, be that meta tags (tags that search engines read and use to catagorise links) or simply making the pages accessible. No ammount of advertising will pay off if you're not listed in some search engines.
