device problems, cant "sync"

OK, i know what you are thinking, just cant "sync" cause a problem with microsoft media player. i cant "sync" with anything, zune for my zune, WMP, music match, not even the old going to the device under my computer. nothing the comeputer gives me a few great codes to work with.i plug my zune into the computer, and a lil window comes up and says:can not install this hardware...there was a problem installing this hardware:....Zune....an error occurred during the installation of the device the specified service does not exist as an installed service.....click finish to exit wizzard. so i click on finish and nothing happens. i go to device manager and it gives me a (code 41) which is windows successfully loaded the device driver for this device driver for this hardware but cannot find the hardware device (code 41) so i call zune the walk me throught three hours of problem solveing, and they tell me call microsoft, they wanted $59.99 to walk me throught it. then they said they might be able to d o it for free i said great, they said sorry call DELL. called dell they wanted $39.99 to talk to me. i said i know enough of it i can fix it....yea now im lost and it now gives me a (code 1) and a (code18) code 1 is this device is not configured correctly, and code 18 is reinstall the drivers for this device, how can i coinfiguer when i cant get to the device, and why wont it hold the drivcer. i had MS visial studio in my comp and took it out....could i have deleted a .net framework or something, if someone could help me out i would really like it, and i am sorry for this being so long winded. thanks in advance.

 

I fixed it by:
0. Connect Zune to PC
1. Go to Device Manager
2. Click Zune under Portable Device.
3. Choose Uninstall
4. Click on the icon "Scan for hardware changes"
5. It should work now.

 

Well, Like i said i tried everything. i found out that it was not only my device that had the problem. two other devices had it too. I contacted Zune, Microsoft, Dell, sansa, and Motarola, with much agervation they could not help me. i even tried the paying for it route, still to my despair i tried the comment above, still nothing. My father noticed i could sync to a "USB Jump Drive" but not the portable devices. so we rolled back WMP and installed the new one. now i have WMP 11 and my devices work. I was told that Microsoft uses "Cmmon Drivers" and if you unistall a Microsoft program you might delete one of them that uses a driver for something else. guess what i think that happened. and i think i am set for now, Microsoft keep saying it was Zune and Dell said the same. Zune said its was Microsoft. sansa said it was Dell. i took matters into my own hands and some how it worked. I think i am going to try Linix. I want to write my own drivers so this never happens agian.
