Does anyone have experience of these Devolo power supply network devices? I've searched the forum, but there's nothing useful other than a recommendation to try them as an alternative to wireless.
    Here's my scenario.

I have two Devolo Highspeed85 ethernet adapters.
My main PC is set up modem-router-pc1 directly ethernet wired, second pc modem-router-devolo1-(powersupply)-devolo2-pc2.
Both PCs have a good internet connection, but I can not share the data back and forth on both PCs.
On PC2, I can see the stuff on PC1's drives, but not vice versa.
One of the PC's Devolo "Informer" software is telling me it sees the other PC, the other one isn't. What's odd is that seems arse about face, PC1 Informer is telling me it can see PC2, but not vice versa.
Have I missed a WINXP sharing option on one of the PCs. Maybe i did it on one but not the other, if so, what was that? I cannot for the life of me remember. Or is it a Devolo issue I need to resolve?

Before anyone suggests, I don't want to go back to wireless for this setup. The distance between the 2 PCs included 3 walls, and the signal was crap.

Doesn't anybody use these Devolo things?

Like to bump this, as I'm not getting any feedback.

Are you using USB or Ethernet connections to the Devolos?

Is the Devolo on PC1 connected to the pc or the router?

In both cases the Devolo units should be connected directly to their respective pcs.

@ lbmest - Thanks for the link. Very useful. I will work through that and add to this if I still have difficulties.

    @ studiot -
They are Ethernet, as mentioned in the original post.

I must confess, your statement raised some doubts in my mind, but I checked with Devolo, and that is NOT true for my scenario.
Both the PC and the Devolo device have a single ethernet socket, therefore the router MUST supply signal to both.
Perhaps also my first post wasn't exactly correct. Scenario is:

    --------------------¦-PC1
    modem-router-
    --------------------¦-Devolo1..........................Devolo2-PC2

If PC1 were in a separate room to the router, then I would indeed connect direct to each PC, but would require 3 Devolo, not 2.

If my Internet connection is working on both PCs, then the network exists. Apparently it is a Firewall issue, causing the sharing problem, which I will follow up with lbmest's link.
Mods, please leave this thread open until I have had a chance to do that.

    Thanks all

I am using Devolo system I have not had any problems and find it an excellent alternative to WiFi but i am only running 1 pc so it's not really relevant to your situation.

Because the Devolo units set up their own network between themselves I have trouble in the past configuring routers to accept the appropriate DNS / NATS settings. Both the router and the Devolo want to be the name server.

If you get your firewall sorted I would be interested to hear the outcome of the final configuration.

If not post some more details and we will see what can be done.
