DHCP help needed please.

Ok, hi everyone.

I have just got my p.c back after several months, installed windows again and everything is running smoothly. I have just tried to connect to the internet but it just isn't happening. It says something about DHCP or a network card.
Does anyone know what I have to do?

Also I have no connections like local area connection

 

Check device manager and see if your NIC drivers are installed.

It sounds like the PC doesn't recognize your NIC.

 

Explaining your network makeup and what type of connection you have would probably be Big Help to Help you.

Well I have had a technician come out and he looked in device manager and told me I have to install the network card drivers, how do I do that?

 

rtfm at the PC manufacturer site they probably have the drivers there as well unless you have an after market NIC card.

 

Well it's a custom p.c

 

Try running a program called BelArc it will give you a full report on every piece of hardware/software installed on the PC you could get the manufacturers name from that report.
