I just recently set up a 2 station POS system for a local resturaunt. I had a netgear router connected to a cable modem on the WAN side with a laptop connecting through the wirelesss. The laptop was working great was able to get on the internet with no problem setup as DHCP. The POS's were hard wired with cat5e cable to the router. The POS's had a manually configured IP address. Being that there was a master station and a slave station I did not want to mess with the settings so i setup a static lease in the router for the two stations. The stations were able to talk to each other with no problem but they were unable to get to the internet. In trouble shooting I disable the manual configuration and enable DHCP on the. After doing that they were able to connect to the interenet. My Question is why would they not be able to connect to the internet while they were manually configured?

    Thanks Phil

did you double check your ip to make sure

you had the default gateway set right
    subnet mask set right
make sure the network part of the ip matched the rest of your ips

after that, are you able to ping down the line until you reach your router

few suggestions on stuff to try if you didnt already.
