Diablo 2 lord of destruction problem

I've installed it back on and updated it......i put my saves into the saves folder which i had burnt onto a cd and for some reason they're not appearing but they did appear before

and i'm using XP.

 

Your saved games may not be compatible with the update for the game itself and consequently the patched version of the game may not recognize the old saves as valid saved games. This happens with various games fairly frequently. If you take a look at the patch/update "readme" file it may say that game saves prior to the update will no longer load. If you think this may be the problem try uninstalling and reinstalling the game and then see if your saves will load in the unpatched/unupdated version of the game. Or if you're sure you patched the game before and your saves worked fine it may be necessary to look for an earlier version of a patch for the game that will be compatible with your saves.

I had the same problem. What you need to do is uninstall.. reinstall then update to the version of the characters.. then start the game and play them all for like 2 seconds.. and then patch it the rest of the way.
