dial-up connection

    I recently got a new pc & there is no modem on it.
    are dial-up connection being phased out?

    I can't help you with your problem but if you were to be more informative with your question it will make it alot easier for someone to answer your question.

    Like what are the specs of your new pc?
    How do you know there isnt a modem?
    are you getting error messages?

    These things will help those smarter then I give you a more accurate answer!!:)

    yes dial up is being phased out..... eithernet is the new standard and you'll have to buy an expansion card to use dial up...... while there are still some computer and notebooks that have phone ports its very uncommon now

    Yes, they're are being phased out. But you should be able to get one online fairly cheap. I had to install one for a customer not too long ago. I believe I got one online for under $10. :)
