dialogue boxes not clickable

    I have an ASUS laptop running Windows Vista.

    Many times, the various dialogue boxes, both in windows itself and in various applications, will not resposnd to the mouse but will usually respond to ENTER and I can move around them with the TAB key.

    I have disabled the touchpad and this has improved the situation a little - suspected the system may have been getting confused betwwen the mouse and touchpad.

    Has anyone a fix for this???
