dialup box on startup

hi
every time i boot the computer the dialup box appears, does anyone know what may cause this, the computer is a dell 3000 dimension, running xp home.
i have looked for reasons, but cant find any.
any help please.

look like you have a spyware dialer run spyware removal tools and see if that fixes it

Try disablimg your startup programs with http://www.majorgeeks.com/Startup_CPL_d619.html
Reboot after each attempt.
Then switch them back on one at a time until you find the offending program.

Excellent option Banacek, a superb way to narrow down a multitude of things this could be from yes spyware to a program wanting to auto-update itself.

Once you find the offending program, either post its name or do your own research in wether its spyware in which case do follow our guide HERE or disable/delete it for starting up.
