3 really good books that I used for XP, Vista and Windows 7 are written by David A. Karp and are entitled:
    Windows XP Annoyances for Geeks,
    Windows Vista Annoyances,
    and Windows 7 Annoyances.

All purchased by me, from Amazon USA.

I guess the publishers left off the "for Geeks" to apply to a wider demographic.

I really recommend the XP version for you XP owners. I did not use the Vista one as much as I did not use the Vista OS a great deal.
As for the Windows 7 book, I have only had W7 on my laptop for less than 2 months, so I am still learning.

The XP book has a special Appendix A, that contained over 700 individual XP settings, the paths and how to drop down through the menus.

Must have been a huge amount of work to compile, as it disappeared from the later OS versions. :cry

Do a google search on GodMode, (Windows 7 and Vista) for a similar idea. I am learning about this now.
