Different Speed Fan for Quad Cores?

I've noticed that only three cores are listed. Is there another program as good as Speed Fan that will show/monitor all four cores?

BTW it's a Phenom II x4 if that helps.

I have the Phenon II x4 920. I just downloaded and installed Speed Fan. It's monitoring all four of my cores and I crosschecked it with SIW and ASUS PC Probe II. It's possible that the problem may be with your CPU. Try SIW and see if it detects four cores, so you will know if it is indeed Speed Fan.

Did you get the processor from a reputable seller?

    Hello Just Playin,

SIW and Everest (just scanned) report all four cores working correctly. And SF still showing three cores.

All hardware purchased from Micro Center.

    Hi

This would link to SF needing an update to register the x4 Phenom correctly, as the other applications JP mentioned for you to try locate and register the x4 ok.

Also what Windows version and do you have any Yellow ! marks in device manager if so what? missing core drivers as in chipset could theoretically cause this.

Make sure you have the most recent version for Speed Fan along with those drivers because my CPU is a Phenom II x4 and is detected by Speed Fan.

Also, there may be an issue with Speed Fan's ability to detect your particular hardware combination correctly, especially if it's new. Try contacting Speed Fan's developers. http://www.almico.com/forumindex.php

    2)Vista Ultimate 64

3)ethernet controller is the only device with (!)
    - tried auto driver update with no success

Version 4.38 of Speed Fan produces the same results so, I'll look for another

temp program, but I'll keep SF and try to contact the author (need an acceptable email account for Vista) to further troubleshoot my problem.

Anyhew, my thanks to you guys for assisting.

Yes or better still pop over to ASUS support and put in your motherboard model and grab the latest network driver ASUS Download Support.

    Select Product ~ choose Motherboard
Select Series ~ this is the socket type of your CPU
Select Model ~ the motherboards model name

Everest can help you with finding this info

But this driver wouldnt be the cause of the missing cores in SF.
