Living in this world is not easy. Slackers without a futuristic goal will be slackers until the end. We need to study & work so that we can achieve our goals. Life is so troublesome that sometimes you will get crazy by thinking about your problems. But if you are a hardworking person with a goal then you can easily move to the next part of your journey. In your experience, what did you do before you achieve your successful life?

I had a myriad of jobs while in high school & college, before Med School. First job was pumping gas at a Texaco station, then a summer working at a loading dock for Dempster Dumpsters. Then a summer cleaning & servicing swimming pools. While in college, I managed a local motel as a night desk clerk. Did a stint in the Air Force Reserve, then finished college and hit the Med School trail. Since then, I moonlighted while a student and medical resident, as a surgical scrub tech, and ER physician at local hospitals over weekends. When I finished my OB-Gyn residency, I went into practice and worked for 35+ years catching babies and treating women.
Should have written a book. Had some wild episodes along the road, some hilarious patients. Now I'm retired for 19 years, just chasing SHEWHOMUSTBEOBEYED around our high-rise condo. She's remarkably elusive, heh heh heh. And lurk here occasionally.

Honestly there's still time! If nothing else, start a thread here with some of your wildest escapades, would love to read 'em!

To me, having a goal isn't something that makes you happy or successful. It's the people you surround yourself with that do that. I love working, but it's not the end goal in life. That's to be with the people I love and spend time getting to know them better and make them happy(ier).

If I get time in the near future, I'll share some funnies that occurred. Several stand out.

By the way, Fleppen, I remember you from years, years past on here. Glad to see some of us old timers are still around.

Me too, very nearly croked in 2019. Thankfully my wife caught it in time.

Good to know about having old-timers here. Your opinion and experiences matter the most.
