Difficulty Un-installing Avast Anti Virus

I tried IObit and the Win7 un-install program from control panel. The "powerful un-install" option listed over 2,00o files were to be deleted, but when I restarted my system Avast was still there. Now the action center message wants to turn on Avast, but that option does not respond.

 

Use Avast Clear.

Whole new problem. I cleared Avast, but now an error keeps popping up..."AVG Anti Virus: avgui.exe - Application error instruction at 0x76d6685f. Referenced memory at 0x00000000. Memory could not be written." Even as I write the error pops in.

 

Hmm, let's go back to when the problems began - start from the beginning, details... more details

As you can see, I got rid of Avast and decided to use AVG. Sorry, I didn't write down the error notification that prompted me to re-install Avast, but that led to the difficulties I began to have when trying to delete Avast. The cause may have been Advanced System Care 9, which indicated that some program short-cuts were invalid(?) because I had not started Windows 7 in several months.

My haste to improve performance, I'm sure, is at the root of the problem! satrow, that's the only thing I can think of.

PS; The application error notification hasn't popped up, so far.

 

Disable or get rid of Advanced System Care.
Now do a clean, total uninstall of AVG and then Avast - separately, restarting your system in between each - and only use the two official removal tools, ie Avast Clear and the AVG removal tool.
Run CCleaner > Cleaner and Registry scan/fix, in between each restart.
Now install AVG from a fresh download.

Going from bad to worse, trying to download AVG removal tool from Major Geeks and it crashes then starts repeat downloads (3 times before I canceled).
