Dilemma: Resetting Windows 10

While attempting to wipe out the hard drive and do clean install of the OS, I stepped away from the computer as it was going through the reset process. As a result, the system timed out and shutdown. Unfortunately, the consequence of this misstep was an incomplete reinstall of Windows 10. Upon returning and restarting the system, it prompted me for a password which I entered but was not accepted. A dialogue box states:
"User profile service failed the sign-in. User profile cannot be loaded."

As a result of my screw-up, I am caught in limbo and unable to complete the reset/reinstall the OS.

I would appreciate any thoughts guidance/fixes.

 

Hurray!! I was able to re-initiate the reset process by going into SAFE MODE...holding the SHIFT key and clicking on the POWER icon on the screen. Once the system began the reset option, I was able to proceed with the system reset process. It is running now.

Hopefully, this route will result in a clean install of the OS and a working Windows 10 computer. My plan to donate this desktop. Thanks again!
