Direct X question?

does anyone know when direct x 10 is supposed to release? i've heard april 2007 at the latest. also is it only for vista or will xp support it also? hope you guys can help me out.

 

Direct X 10 will only be for windows Vista and NOT XP.....

So you will see direct X 10 when vista come out around january or later.....

 

Or, if ye are running vista (beta, RC1, pre RC2, RC2, or another build) already (like some, me included), you already have DX10.
Ye also need a dx10 video card (supposedly in November, Nvidia will release the 8800 GTX and 8800 GTS), to fully support DX10.

 

do you guys think there is a need to get a direct x 10 card when they come out or should i be ok to get a direct x 9 card like a 7900 GTO? my friend and i were talking and we don't really see a need for a new card like the 8800 untill about 6 to 7 months after the release.
