directsound

    sound isnt working after format,

    directsound output error.

    I went to start > run > dxdiag > sound

    It said. "No sound card was found. If one is expected, you should install a sound driver provided by the hardware manufacturer."

    How can I fix it.

    are you using a sound card or are you using on board sound?

    have you tried updating your drivers?

    i have a sound card, I dont know what one or else I would of downloaded the drivers.

    Have a look in device manager (start>controlpanel>system>hardware tab), look at "sound, video & game controllers", right click your sound card and click properties. Once you have the model number, search the internet for the correct drivers.:)
