    Hello folks.

When using MS FlightSim online, I am unable to communicate with ATC and other pilots.

I can receive them OK but my transmissions are heavily distorted and slowed.

I have tracked this down to a problem in DirectX.

Under the Network tab of DxDiag, I get the following error messages:-

    ----------------------------
    DirectPlay Service Providers
    ----------------------------
DirectPlay8 Modem Service Provider - Registry: OK, File: dpnet.dll (5.03.0000.0900)
DirectPlay8 Serial Service Provider - Registry: OK, File: dpnet.dll (5.03.0000.0900)
DirectPlay8 IPX Service Provider - Registry: OK, File: dpnet.dll (5.03.0000.0900)
    DirectPlay8 TCP/IP Service Provider - Registry: OK, File: dpnet.dll (5.03.0000.0900)
Internet TCP/IP Connection For DirectPlay - Registry: Error, File: ()
IPX Connection For DirectPlay - Registry: Error, File: ()
Modem Connection For DirectPlay - Registry: Error, File: ()
Serial Connection For DirectPlay - Registry: Error, File: ()

DirectPlay Voice Wizard Tests: Full Duplex: Not run, Half Duplex: Not run, Mic: Not run
    DirectPlay Test Result: Not run
    Registry: OK

Not sure exactly what it is telling me, nor do I know how to go about sorting it out.

I don't know if it is relevant or not but, as it mentions TCP/IP, this is the DxDiag Adapters report:-

    -------------------
    DirectPlay Adapters
    -------------------
    DirectPlay8 Serial Service Provider: COM1
    DirectPlay8 Serial Service Provider: COM2
    DirectPlay8 Serial Service Provider: COM5
    DirectPlay8 Serial Service Provider: COM6
    DirectPlay8 Serial Service Provider: COM7
    DirectPlay8 Serial Service Provider: COM8
    DirectPlay8 Serial Service Provider: COM9
DirectPlay8 TCP/IP Service Provider: Broadcom NetXtreme Gigabit Ethernet Driver -

Any help will be much appreciated.

Much as I appreciate all the help I had from Plodr with DirectX registry problems, I take it that no-one here can help me with this one.

But if anyone can suggestion a forum that might be able to help me I would be most grateful.

Still getting nowhere with this problem.

Would some kind person with Win2000 SP4 and DirectX 9.0c please run DxDiag and tell me what should be in the log for those items shown in red on my original post?

This is from my husband's computer. I'm not sure if mine would be the same because it does not have a modem.
All say registry OK, so I will just state the dll (File) and version
Internet TCP/IP Connection for Direct Play dpwsockx.dll 5.03.001.0904
IPX Connection for Direct Play dpwsockx.dll 5.03.001.0904
Modem Connection for Direct Play dpmodemx.dll 5.03.0000.0900
Serial Connection for Direct Play dpmodemx.dll 5.03.0000.0900

The site I trust, has the wrong versions
    http://www.dlldump.com/download-dll-files_new.php/dllfiles/D/dpwsock.dll/5.00.2134.10/download.html
    http://www.dlldump.com/download-dll...s/D/dpmodemx.dll/5.03.2600.2180/download.html

Let me see if I can find them.

Give me some time. My husband's computer is in the basement and I'm on the first floor on an XP computer.

I have removed the files from my paid storage. If you need them, you will have to contact me.

Sincere Apologies for disappearing Plodr, I had a major HD crash and have been off-air for some weeks.

It all started with the power supply tripping out during boot-up which was the beginning of a nightmare. I am still having problems which I will start a new thread for.

Thank you so much for the help you gave me regarding my DirectX woes; having to re-install the OS has now fixed those.

Data recovery is now the name of the game! :(

Thanks again for all your help.

Sorry to hear about the hd crash. At least the system is working the way it should.

I sure hope you have backups of the important data.
I would not survive without my periodic images (made using Acronis True Image). I've had to use some of the images a few times when things got out of hand.

You gain wisdom after you have had a few disasters! I speak from personal experience. I've had some lost data and programs when I was unable to recover things.
