    Morning all!!!

Haven't been here in awhile. Haven't had many problems, until..........rolleyes Anyway, my problem could be very simple and I'm just an idiot...not sure. But I trust you guys implicitly, and wanted to make sure that I'm right about this.

I bought a game for my daughter, and it required that I update my DirectX to version 9.0c. So I did. And in the process, it told me that it couldn't copy a file. So, I ran diagnostics and it DID come up okay. No errors. But when I tested Direct 3D, it errors saying that it skipped the test for Direct3D 9 because my display driver doesn't support it and that I should obtain a newer driver through the hardware manufacturer. My driver is Intel 82845G/GL/GE/PE/GV. I updated through the wizard, and rebooted. So, I try to run the game, and a little window pops up "failed to initialize Direct3D. Please make sure DirectX 9.0c has been installed on this system. The application will now terminate."

So, what did I do wrong? Did I fail to execute a step? Or is there something else that I need?

Thanx for the help in advance guys. It's much appreciated!!

    Laura

Now that you have an updated video driver, I'd recommend that you re-install DirectX 9.0c, as it should have access the video drivers it is expecting, where it didn't before.
