directx 9.0c problem

i installed directx 9.0c on my pc BUT when i run directx on my pc it says on the main page that it is still directx 9.0b (xp sp2 slip stream disk)

so i done a test and i installed an older copy of xp sp1 (slip stream disk) on my pc, i think it had directx 8.1 on it, so i installed 9.0c on it and on the main dirctx screen it says that it is directx 9.0c

any idea any1

i need 9.0c installed on my pc or i can't play hl2 death match

 

I'm going on a limb and guessing u mean by checking dxdiag? In Windows???

 

Try installing the latest DirectX redistributable from Microsoft. Even if you have DirectX 9c, the redist will update it to the newest components. If you have DX9b, it will be updated to DX9c. If you have a corrupt DX9?, it should be repaired and updated to DX9c. You can download the latest DX9c redist from this link (Major Geeks) or directly from Microsoft at this link. Good luck! How far down do you have to dig to find a 2 year old thread??? If you click on "Last" on the page-number-counter thingy, it only goes back 40 pages, which is +/- a month. How the @#$%&* did NF resurrect a two-year-old thread?!?!?! roflmao LOL roflmao LOL :-D
