directx 9c

hi all, newbie to the forum here! i have recently bought a new pc from ebay (97 quid......yippee) and added a graphics card (aopen aoleus 5700). the disk included dx9b so i downloaded 9c but when i try intall it, it asks whick folder to install it to. i guessed window/system32/directx but when i rebooted and checked using system information it still stated b was installed!!!! have i sent the files to the wrong folder? i used search for files : directx in the start menu, but it only finds the files i have intalled and the folder "com/ms" and that sounds like a file i don't really want to touch
Any help would be appreciated, thanks

system spec :- duron1800, winxp pro (moody copy (fckgw)). 512mb ddr ram, nvidia 5700 128mb (updated detonator drivers)

 

Try using windowsupdate.com to get dx 9c it should put it in the right spot for ya.

 

hi, thanks for replying, but unfortunately my xp is a dodgy copy, and window update will gra my pc from behind and shag it for all it's worth!!. can you think of another way?
