    Hello!
I have an error when playing Fallout 3...
I am playing Call of Duty 4, and Frozen Throne with no problems...
Can anyone help me with this?
When I start the game two errors come up...

    Hi

Gather your using XP? if so then what Service Pack version?

With the DirectX setup message being shown in one of your images, do make sure that you have the latest version of DirectX in http://majorgeeks.com/DirectX_Redistributable_d2924.html version 9c

Did Fallout 3 install ok or is this when installing Fallout 3?
Do also check for updates for this game at the makers site.

Close all un-necassary applications before playing this game to test that another application is not causing this issue, things like Yahoo Messenger, Site Advisor, SuperAntiSpyware etc

and i think i have the "Line -1" error...
does that mean my xp sp3 is somewhat corrupt?

    Hi

Shouldnt be the cause in a bad SP3 install as your other games work ok, so its more likely this game and/or a 3rd party application causing a conflict, however with you clean installing XP and SP3, what other softwares did you also install?

Their also is an update to this game from 06th Nov 08 that is worth installing http://fallout.bethsoft.com/eng/downloads/patches.html

Also click start > run and type dxdiag and hit enter then run the DirectX diagnostics to see if it finds any errors.

havent tried the patch, downloading it...
i have no errors in the diagnostics in the dxdiag, but the thing i find creepy is that the directx box in the diagnostic (the one who's spinning) is spinning VERY FAST... i mean VERY FAST, its as if you cannot see the words in the side of the box... is that normal?

It's strange but when I did some research about this problem for you, everyone with the same problem appeared to be using a cracked version of the game they downloaded. Do you have a legitimate copy?
