directx help with c++

hello

im new here, first post this one so dunno how much help i will get, but here we go .

this is my first day of directx programming, so im BRAND new ;p, im really excited to try learn it, as far as i can tell, this program looks right but it wont display lines, im just trying to draw some lines on the window, if i change it a bit i can draw triangles and stuff but i just cant display lines on their own, if ne1 could help, that would be great.
