directx input problem

my mom has a computer i built for her at home now about 500mi from me. when i built it here i used my ps2 keyboard and mouse worked great down there she has plugged in a usb wireless keyboard and mouse now no games will work because directx isn't recognizing them. but they work fine for everything else in the input section in directx diag it shows up with nothing connected but when i go to printers and other hardware in control panel mouse shows up with 2 hid compliant mice and 2 hid compliant keyboards in the keyboard part but when you look to see where they are plugged in they both say location 0. but they both say devices are working properly now when i start dxdiag it says that it has detected that there may have been a problem accessing Directinput the last time this program was used. enclosed is a copy of the dxdiag and a screen shot of the input section any help would be appreciated thank you. i have just tried hooking up a ps2 mouse and keyboard and it is doing the same thing

 

Have a look in the device manager. If ther are two keyboards, two mice showing up. Uninstall all of them, reboot, windows should pick up the ones attached & reinstall them. That might do something. You might need the the installation cd handy or any drivers that came with the mouse/keyboard.

 

fixed it!!!! it was a usb remote control that came with dvd player software that she bought we unplugged it rebooted and now all is good ,thanks all!
