Disable Airplane Mode?

Anyone know of a registry entry to permanently disable airplane mode (Win10 Pro - 64) ? Don't need it on my PC and turns on occasionally....

Airplane mode on Windows is hardware dependent, so there is no option to configure via group policy, regedit, etc.

What is the model of your machine and wireless? You may need a driver update or a malware scan.

Rather look at Services and disable Airplane Mode from there.

 

I found 3 Dell updates for the XPS8900 and installed; will watch.....

 

Was disabled under network settings..... If you mean services under task manager, I don't see anything there referring to "airplane mode"...?

 

All airplane mode does is disable your wireless adapters, both wifi and bluetooth. Doesn't sound like a great idea trying to prevent them from being switched off. If, as you say, it turns itself on occasionally that could well be because the F button has been accidentally touched, F9 on my Thinkpad.

 

I should have provided more details..... Several times my PC started up in airplane mode, inconvenient when you have wireless keyboard and mouse and I have to plug in a USB mouse to turn it off.

 

OK, clearly you know what you are doing, but you are 100% sure this wasn't because your wireless switch may have been in the off mode?

 

Definitely not, never a reason to do so several times!

 

Look for Radio Management Service.
