Disable Edge Browser

I have set my default browser as Chrome, but it appears that every time I boot my computer the Edge browser starts, and most often when I close down Edge browser pops up as still running and preventing shutdown. It only lasts a moment and then shuts down, but why do I have to have this browser running in the background all the time? Why, when I do a search in the Windows search bar does it use Edge to open a link when I have set my default as Chrome?

You don't say what sort of warning, or what generated it, but the site is clean and the article very useful.

I have not had time to try the one suggested by dr.moriarity. The one you linked was such a simple fix, but in the list of options after you click on Background Apps, Edge or Microsoft Edge does not appear there so I can't turn it off.

As you can see on mine, neither Edge or Microsoft Edge appear.

Thanks for this link. I have just done what Eldon said so hopefully Edge is disabled, at least until the next update.
