    Hi,

I've looked everywhere and I'm trying to figure out how to temporarily disable Firefox to use Explorer to use a couple of web sites that don’t work with Firefox. I find all sorts of information on how to disable parts of Firefox, but nothing on how to shut it off for a while.

    Thanks

You mean setting it as the default browser? Presuming XP go to control panel > internet options > programs > at the bottom there's a check default browser. Start IE and it will ask if you want to do it.

Why don't you just start IE when you need to or is this for some HTML embedded in another app?

You don't have to disable any browser to use a different one. I can click my FF icon, my IE icon and my Opera icon and have all three browsers working at the same time.
Just click the icon, put in an address and that browser will go to any address you type in.
